According to PART-FCL, an applicant for ATPL (A) shall have completed as a pilot of aeroplane at least 1.500 hours of flight time, including

| 500 hours in multi-pilot operations on aeroplanes type certificated in accordance with EASA- CS/FAR 25 or EASA-CS/FAR 23, as pilot-in-command |
| 500 hours in multi-pilot operations on aeroplanes type certificated in accordance with EASA- CS/FAR 25 or EASA-CS/FAR 23, of which up to 150 hours may be as flight engineer. |
| 500 hours in multi-pilot operations on aeroplanes type certificated in accordance with EASA- CS/FAR 25 or EASA-CS/FAR 23. |
| 500 hours in multi-pilot operations on aeroplanes type certificated in accordance with EASA- CS/FAR 25 or EASA/FAR 23, including 200 hours of night flight as pilot-in-command or as co-pilot. |
